Japan possesses outstanding technologies that are competitive on a global scale, and a wealth of talented individuals driven by lofty ambitions. However, the "foundation" needed to organically connect these strengths and sustain them as a functioning industry has yet to be adequately established. This is the reality from which I set out.

What is needed now is not to further refine individual strengths in isolation. Rather, it is to integrate those strengths and give shape to the very "structure" that delivers sustained value from a national base to the global stage. Not a one-time success, but a system that can be passed on to the next generation — and to the millennium beyond. I believe this is the responsibility of those born in this country who lead enterprises.

In the era ahead, the competitiveness of enterprises and nations will shift from the stage of "using" AI to the stage of "owning" it. We are entering an age where owning and continually operating one's own intelligence as an asset is itself the wellspring of sustained value creation. Relying solely on borrowing general-purpose models for application will leave neither industrial leadership nor long-term returns in our hands. Customer Cloud is building from the foundation itself, with this major turning point as our premise.
